ADHD/Autism

Background

Welcome to our Autism and ADHD Assessments page. Here, you will find a list of assessment providers, along with information on various charity groups that offer support and resources. As a patient, you have the right to choose the provider that best suits your needs. Our goal is to ensure you have access to the necessary tools and services for effective care and support.

Getting a diagnosis

Adults

We are happy to support your request for an autism or ADHD assessment. You do not need an appointment but we do need some information in order to send this. The graphic below gives a brief overview of the process.

Please note that most providers have a waiting list of several months for assessment, and then a separate waiting list for medication initiations if any is recommended.

Below is a list of providers specialising in Autism and ADHD assessments, which Notts ICB will approve referrals to. Patients have the right to choose their preferred provider, ensuring access to tailored care and support, however providers not on this list may not receive funding. Explore your options to find the best fit for your needs and make an informed decision about your assessment and care.

For adults, please fill in the form and then send to nnicb-bassetlaw.larwoodreferrals@nhs.net. We will add your answers to the provider’s own form and send this. You will receive confirmation by text message or emails, depending on your preferences.

Please send completed forms by email where possible. Forms handed in over the desk may experience a short delay due to sending between sites and scanning.

Children and Young People

Parents or care givers of school-aged children are advised to raise any initial concerns with their child’s educational setting. As school staff interact with the child on a near-daily basis, they are better placed to observe their development and behaviours over a period of time. Schools are able to make direct referrals for assessment and will typically hold the relevant supporting information required.

If the school decides not to proceed with a referral, a GP may consider making a referral for assessment through an approved provider under the Right to Choose pathway.

If you would like to explore a potential referral, please select an appropriate provider from the list below and submit a GP appointment request via SystmConnect.
