Every Mind Matters
Bassetlaw Bereavement Counselling

Bassetlaw Bereavement Counselling provides free, one-to-one support for adults (18+) who are struggling to cope with grief, offering both telephone and face-to-face sessions in dedicated counselling rooms at Bassetlaw Hospital, Worksop. With over 30 years of experience, our service is funded by the NNICB and is available to anyone living in the Bassetlaw area or registered with a Bassetlaw GP.
CASY

CASY (Counselling and Support for Young People) provides a confidential counselling service to young people aged from 6 to 25 within Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
ChatHealth (NHS Service)

The ChatHealth text service is an easy way for young people to confidentially ask for help about a range of issues or make an appointment with a health practitioner.
Everyturn

Everyturn provides talking therapies nationwide, predominantly commissioned by the NHS and local authorities, as part of the IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) programme. Currently providing 14 free-to-access talking therapy services throughout the country. You can refer yourself by phone or the chatbot on their website.
Harmless

Harmless is the national centre of excellence for self harm and suicide prevention. They save lives by providing support, information, training and consultancy about self harm to individuals who self harm, their friends, families and professionals.
In Sam’s Name

In Sam’s Name is a peer support group for men who are 18+ suffering from mental health issues within Bassetlaw and the wider Nottinghamshire area.
The purpose of our group is to help members find strength from other men that are going through or who have previously experienced mental health issues through the power of conversation, friendship and additional support.

Nottinghamshire Crisis Sanctuaries

The Crisis Sanctuaries are providing an alternative support service for those approaching or in crisis, for the population of Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City. Primarily they’re drop in services so no referrals needed, however many service users call us for telephone support. The Crisis Sanctuaries have developed an effective approach, offering a flexible and holistic package of support, tailored to individual needs and circumstances.
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Talking Therapies

Nottinghamshire’s new NHS Talking Therapies service is launching on 1 April 2023, covering the full footprint of Nottinghamshire’s Integrated Care Board. It is available to anyone aged 18+ and registered with a GP in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, or Bassetlaw either with a referral from a health professional, or via self-referral.
The service provides support for people experiencing mild/moderate symptoms of common mental health problems, including:
- Phobias
- Low mood or depression
- Worry or anxiety
- Stress
- Panic
- Trauma
- Issues related to long-term health conditions
Rethink Mental Illness

Rethink provide expert, accredited advice and information to everyone affected by mental health problems.
Samaritans

The Samaritans provide support for people struggling with mental health difficulties, including those having thoughts of suicide.
Shout 85258

Shout are available 24/7 to text for issues such as anxiety, stress, depression and PTSD. They are run by volunteers and overseen by clinically trained staff. Text NOTTS to 85258 to get started. People of any age can use this service.
Talkzone

Free counselling support for those aged 11 – 25 in Bassetlaw. A self-referral form is available on their website
The Centre Place LGBT+ Notts

The Centre Place LGBT+ Notts provide a range of specialist services for children and young people aged 11-25 who identify as LGBT+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and any other sexual orientation or gender identity), or may be questioning this, for further information see their website
Turning Point Mental Health

The Mental Health Helpline is available for anyone who needs emotional support or information about what help is available locally for people struggling with their mental health. This service is also available to children.
