We have a Clinical Lead for veterans, Dr Ozcelik, who has undertaken additional training on how best to support veteran patients and their families. We ask patients when they register if they are a veteran so that we can record it on their medical record. This contains links to support services, advice on joining the civilian workforce after leaving the forces and help navigating the services provided by the council and government.
The Veterans mental health and wellbeing service – OpCOURAGE
Op COURAGE provides specialist care and support for service leaders, reservist, veterans and their families. The service was developed by veterans, for veterans. OpCOURAGE is available across England and since 2017 has helped nearly 30,000 people.
