New Prescription Phone Service

We’re excited to announce that we have launched our automated prescription ordering service. With it, you can order any medication which is due that are on your repeats list.
How to use it
When you call us on 01909 500 233, listen to the options and select the option for the Automated Booking/Prescription service. You will then be able to choose to order your repeat prescription. You will need:
- Your date of birth
- Your registered telephone number
- Your PIN
Once logged in, you will hear the items you have available to order. Simply press 1 on each item and it will be added to your order. Once you have selected all of your items, press 0 to submit your order, which will be processed within 3 working days.
Your items will be named as the generic medication name and not the brand name. Check your boxes or your prescription slip to find out the name of it.
What’s my PIN?
Everyone who has a repeat medication on their record has been assigned a PIN from their NHS number. Most PINs are the last 6 digits of their NHS number.
We recommend that you change your PIN to something more memorable – you can do this on the automated service.
If your NHS number has too many identical consecutive numbers, like 88888, we may have set it as the first 3 and last 3 numbers of your NHS number

What are the benefits of this system?
We process a lot of prescription requests. Most go through fine, however we encounter a significant number of messages which are either of poor quality or with no patient information attached. This not only takes time for our team to solve, but also represents a risk for patients who may not get their medication on time.
Orders through our automated service go straight into your record to be actioned, so we can process these faster and more accurately than ever.
What can’t I order on it?
If an item is on your repeats list, you can order it. If your medication is due for a review, the service will let you know. You cannot order items if:
- They aren’t due
- You need extra for a holiday abroad
- They aren’t on your repeat list (i.e. contraceptive pills or acute medications)
- You have never had the medication before
If any of the above apply, please contact our reception team during our opening hours, or submit a request on Smart Triage.
I’m having problems, can I get help?
Absolutely! You can leave a message for us and one of our team will call you back. We can help over the phone, or schedule a time for you to pop into the surgery for help (bring your phone).
