Tests
Most blood tests can be done at Bassetlaw District Hospital without an appointment and forms can now be sent to you by either email or text if you have agreed to this method of communication.
For patients that are not able to attend the hospital we have some appointments available to book in surgery.
For X-rays the clinician at the surgery will create an electronic form which goes directly into the hospital systems. You can then attend the X-ray department between 08:30 and 19:30. The service can be busy, so there may be a wait. The walk-in service is for X-rays and bloods only – you will receive an appointment for any other tests requested.
Collection Times
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals collect our samples and take them to the laboratory for testing. Any appointments for samples should be before the times below, otherwise they may not be collected and might need to be taken again.

Test Results
Once you have had your test, the results are sent to the practice electronically. Once the clinician has seen your result and filed them they will be available through SystmOnline or through the NHS App.
If the doctor wishes you to repeat the test or speak to you, we will be in touch to book a telephone appointment with you.
We recommend opting in to receiving text messages from the surgery as this is the most convenient and quickest way to received your results. To do this, please contact us using Smart Triage or call the surgery on 01909 500 233.
If you prefer to call us for your results, please call us after 11:00 as our lines are very busy with appointment requests in the early morning.
The clinician who orders your test is responsible for receiving and acting upon the results once available. If you have had a test at the request of a hospital department or consultant then please contact that department or consultant for the results.
